0. Principles

When assessing product liability and the obligations of the manufacturer and user, all technical information, product descriptions, data sheets, and notices on our website and in our offers must be observed.

Responsibility for the correct selection, design, and use of the products lies with the user or the designer of the overall system.

Liability exists exclusively within the framework of legal regulations and only for products within their intended area of use.

1. Product Definition and Intended Use

Wheels, castors, and technical running components are mechanical components for moving, guiding, or supporting loads.

Our products include in particular:

  • Wheels and castors for floor-guided applications
  • Flanged wheels, V-groove and U-profile wheels for guided systems
  • Wheels for industrial systems, conveying technology, and AGVs/AMRs
  • Sheave pulleys and deflecting rollers
  • Components for hanging systems and trolleys (limited)

Intended use requires:

  • professional selection according to the application
  • observance of the specified technical data
  • proper assembly
  • regular maintenance and inspection

2. Assembly and Design Obligations

The user is obliged to:

  • consider all loads (static, dynamic, shock)
  • apply appropriate safety factors
  • check material suitability (temperature, chemicals, environment)
  • ensure professional fastening and securing

Unless otherwise specified, load capacity data applies under optimal conditions and with even load distribution.

3. Areas of Use and Special Notes

3.1 Castors for Floor-Guided Applications

Our castors are primarily designed for use on suitable, load-bearing, and even floors.

The following are not permitted or are restricted:

  • Use with overload
  • Use on unsuitable or very uneven floors
  • Use at excessive speed
  • Use under extreme temperatures without approval

3.2 Use in Hanging Systems (e.g., Rails, Beams, Trolleys)

⚠️ Important Safety Notice

The use of wheels and castors in hanging applications or overhead guided systems represents a safety-critical application.

Our products are not designed for this as standard, unless expressly marked.

When used in such applications, the following applies:

  • the design is carried out exclusively by the user
  • increased safety factors (recommended ≥ 2–5) must be applied
  • additional securing systems must be provided (e.g., fall arrest systems, redundant suspensions)
  • all relevant standards and safety regulations must be observed

👉 Liability for damages arising from hanging applications is excluded unless explicit written approval is provided.

3.3 Sheave Pulleys and Deflecting Rollers

Sheave pulleys are intended exclusively for guiding suitable ropes within the specified parameters.

The user must in particular check:

  • correct rope diameter and groove geometry
  • permissible rope forces and deflection forces
  • suitable bearing and lubrication
  • avoidance of diagonal pull and shock loads

Not permitted are:

  • overloading of the sheave pulley
  • use of unsuitable ropes
  • use without sufficient safety reserves

👉 For safety-relevant applications (e.g., personnel loads), only specially approved systems are to be used.

4. Misuse

Misuse occurs in particular if:

  • the permissible load capacity is exceeded
  • the products are used for an unintended purpose
  • modifications or alterations are made without approval
  • improper assembly is carried out
  • external influences (impacts, collisions, aggressive media) act upon them
  • safety-relevant components are missing

5. Maintenance and Inspection

Regular inspections are required for safe operation:

  • Checking all fastenings
  • Inspection of bearings, treads, and wear
  • Functional testing of movable parts
  • Replacement of damaged components

In the event of increased loads or demanding operating conditions, maintenance intervals must be shortened accordingly.

6. Liability

Liability for damages is excluded in particular in cases of:

  • improper use
  • incorrect design
  • insufficient dimensioning
  • missing or inadequate maintenance
  • use outside the intended areas of application

Liability is limited to legal provisions and exclusively to the delivered product.

7. Obligation to Inform

The user is obliged to communicate all relevant information:

  • to downstream users
  • to consider in design and operation
  • to consult us in case of uncertainties
