Swivel Castor
Do not exceed maximum load capacity per castor – distribute total load evenly across all castors
Use only on level, clean surfaces – unevenness, rails or gaps can lead to jamming
Never use swivel castors as sole fastening – always combine with sufficient fixed castors (Recommendation: 2 swivel + 2 fixed castors)
Regular visual inspection for wear, cracks or damage to the wheel and swivel housing
Do not use for inclines or declines without additional securing
Regularly check tightening torque of mounting screws
Fixed Castor
Observe direction of travel – fixed castors are not rotatable and must not be loaded laterally
Avoid lateral impact loads – can lead to rim or bearing failure
Always use in combination with swivel castors
Check mounting for sufficient load-bearing capacity of the substructure
Regularly check ball bearing for smooth running
Swivel Castor with Brake
Always engage the brake when the vehicle is stationary – especially on sloped surfaces
Never engage the brake under load – first stop, then brake
Do not use the brake as a permanent load holder on inclines – only as a securing device on level surfaces
Regular functional check of the braking mechanism – the brake must engage and release without effort
If the brake is defective, replace the castor immediately – do not continue to operate
Operate the brake only with your foot – never with tools or by kicking against the wheel
